  1. Date has to be later than 1838. Construction was commenced in 1837, but the building looks substantially complete in the shetch and the flag is flying, probably at least 1841-2 and possibly as late as 1845. It was opened for public inspection for the first time in July 1842, but the Governor did not take up residence until June 1845 and, except for the Queen's Birthday celebrations 1843-1845, the flag may not have been flown from the building prior to permanent Vice-Regal occupancy.
