NSW Sale of Land by Auction - Argyle, Murray, Cook, Camden & Cumberland - 31st December 1832

SALE OF LAND. 

AT Eleven o'clock of Friday, the 12th of April next, the Collector of Internal Revenue will put up to Auction, at the Police Office, Sydney, the undermentioned portions of Land, on the conditions detailed in the Government Order of 1st August, 1831, No 22. 

The Land will be put up at the prices stated, and the highest bidder of those sums, or upwards, (if free) will be declared the purchaser. 

But, before the bidding is accepted, the party will be required to pay down a deposit of ten per cent. on the amount of the purchase-money, and to sign an engagement to pay the balance within one calendar month, under penalty of forfeiting both the deposit and the Land. 

If payment be not made within the prescribed period; the deposit will be forfeited accordingly, and the Land, will be again open to the selection of the public. 

The Land disposed of under these regulations will be held in free and common socage, subject to the nominal quit-rent of a pepper-corn, and under the usual reservations regarding the construction of ways and bridges, indigenous timber, and other materials for ways and public purposes, and mines of coals and of precious metals. 

It will be measured according to the established regulations, and the purchaser will take upon himself all risks arising from any inaccuracy in the description. 

Further particulars respecting the Land may be obtained from the Surveyor General, and respecting the conditions from the Collector of Internal Revenue. 

1. ARGYLE, 800, Eight hundred Acres, more or less, near Goulburn, immediately opposite the grant of John Stephen, senior, of 2000 acres; bounded on the East by the Mulwarree Ponds; on the North partly by Dr. Gibson's grant: and on the South and West by the section lines. Applied for by John Stephen, senior. Price, five shillings per acre. 

2. MURRAY, Molonglo Plains, 640, Six hundred and forty Acres, a section about 4 miles to the East of Balcombe's Land, nearly at the end of the Plains, to include a water-hole in that direction. Applied for by Henry Colden Antill. Price, five shillings per acre. 

3. MURRAY, Molonglo Plains, 640, Six hundred and forty Acres, about 5½ miles South of Mr. Balcombe's stock station, near Mr. John White's 500 acres. Applied for by Owen Bowen. Price, five shillings per acre. 

4. MURRAY, 640, Six hundred and forty Acres, more or less, bounded on the East by the Yass River; on the South by the section applied for by Guise, and on the North and West by the section lines. Applied for by James Hughes. Price, five shillings per acre. 

5. COOK, Hassan's Walls, 100, One hundred Acres, bounded on the North by the New Bathurst Road, and by the Bridge party's huts; on the East by William Ackhurst's 80 acres; and on the South and West by lines to include the quantity. Applied for by Joseph Phillips. Price, five shillings per acre. 

6. CAMDEN, Mittagong, 100, One hundred Acres, at Gibraltar Creek; bounded on the North by the New South Road, and being immediately West of a stone bridge now building. Applied for by George Cutter. Price, five shillings per acre.

The purchaser of this lot will be required to enter into an engagement to complete a commodious Inn thereon within two years.

7. CAMDEN, District of Picton, 80, Eighty Acres, bounded on the South by Red-bank Creek; and on the East by Tierney. Applied for by James Mills. Price, five shillings per acre.

8. CAMDEN, District of Picton, 80, Eighty Acres, bounded on the North by Red-bank Creek; on the East by the Land applied for by James Mills, being one farm West from Tierney's. Applied for by Thomas James. Price, five shillings per acre.

9. CAMDEN, District of Picton, 80, Eighty Acres, bounded on the North by Red-bank Creek; on the East by the Land applied for by Thomas James, being two farms West from Tierney's. Applied for by Joseph Howard. Price, five shillings per acre.

10. COOK, 100, One hundred Acres, at Bowen's Hollow; bounded on the North by the New Bathurst Road on the East by Bowen's Creek ; and on the South and West by lines to include the quantity. Applied for by John Cox. Price, five shillings per acre.

11. CUMBERLAND, Banks town, 60, Sixty Acres, Allotment No. 1. for discharged soldiers, commencing on the Liverpool Road at the North east corner of H. Hart's 100 acres grant; bounded on the West by a line bearing South 54 chains; on the South by a line bearing East 12 chains, to a road separating this allotment from H. Lindon's grant; on the East by that road bearing North 48 chains, to the Liverpool Road; and on the North by the Liverpool Road. Applied for by John Reilley. Price, five shillings per acre.
