NSW List of Absconded and Apprehended Prisoners (Convicts) - 4 February 1833

PRINCIPAL SUPERINTENDENT OF CONVICT'S OFFICE, 
SYDNEY, 4th FEBRUARY, 1833. 

THE undermentioned Prisoners having absconded from the Individuals and Employments set against their names respectively, and some of them being at large with stolen Certificates, and Tickets-of-Leave, all Constables and others are hereby required and commanded to use their utmost exertions in apprehending and lodging them in safe custody.

Any Person harbouring or employing any of the said Absentees, will be prosecuted as the Law directs:—

William Fairley, No. 31-1085, Camden, 41, Upholsterer, Edinburgh, 5 feet 4, grey eyes, dark brown to grey hair, dark ruddy comp. horizontal scars between eyes, scar of cupping on lower part of right breast, from Mr. E. Hunt, Sydney; a notorious runaway.

Charles Morgan, No. 31-1220, Georgiana, 23, Porter, London, 5 feet 8½, hazel grey eyes, dark brown hair, sallow comp. nearly blind of left eye, from Mrs. E. Ellis, Sydney.

Jonathan Jones, No. 30-289, Katharine Stewart Forbes, 22, Stable Boy, Monmouth, 5 feet 6¼, hazel eyes, brown hair, ruddy comp. Jonathan Jones on right arm, W P and I C on left, small scar under right eye, rings to third finger on each hand, from Parramatta Road Department; 2d time of running.

Israel Hancock, No. 29-1829, John, 27, Painter's Apprentice and Groom, Woolwich, 5 feet 2, dark brown eyes, black hair, dark ruddy comp. anchor on right arm, scar on left eye-brow, from No. 12 Road Gang; 2d time of running.

Daniel Holmes, No. 28-1921, Albion, 21, Errand Boy, Manchester, 5 feet 0¼, blue eyes, brown hair, pale freckled comp. G H I H S and D H on right arm, from No. 12 Road Gang.

Denis M'Cormick, Mangles, 40, Labourer, Limerick, 5 feet 6, grey eyes, brown hair, sallow comp. from Mr. G. Townsend, Paterson's River.

George Rose, Georgiana, 16, Tailor, London, 5 feet 3, grey eyes, light brown hair, fair comp. from Mr. G. Townsend, Paterson's River.

John Nowland, No. 30-1875, Hercules, 18, Knife Boy, County of Carlow, 5 feet 1, blue eyes, dark brown hair, dark ruddy and freckled comp. scar under left eye and raised dark mole underneath, from Mr. T. Evernden, J. P..; lent for harvest.

Thomas Callager, No. 32-519, Isabella (4), 26, Plasterer, Mayo, 5 feet 1½, hazel eyes, brown hair, ruddy freckled comp. scar on left cheek, from Mr. William Ogilvie, Maitland.

Hugh Hosie, No. 27-1619, Manlius, 23, Errand Boy, Glasgow, 5 feet 5½, hazel grey eyes, dark brown hair, sallow freckled comp. woman, heart, dart, J D on right arm, H H and thistles on left arm, from Mr. H. Hall, Invermein; 2d time of running.

Judith Breslam, No. 30-388, Forth, 33, Servant of All-work, Meath, 5 feet 0½, hazel eyes, sandy hair, ruddy freckled comp. blue spots on the back of each hand, from Mrs. Maria Ainsley, Sydney; 2d time of running.

Henry Williams, No. 27-2314, Champion, 24, Clerk, London, 5 feet 2¾, brown eyes, brown hair, ruddy comp. peculiar raised mark on right forehead, and cut on left, scar on corner right eyebrow, from Mr. W. Lawson, jun. a notorious runaway.

James M'Carty, No. 32-1394, City of Edinburgh, 21, Labourer, Monaghan, 5 feet 5, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, ruddy freckled comp. scar inside middle finger of right hand, from Mr. G. B. Suttor, Bathurst.

Thomas Tallon, No. 32-49, Norfolk (3), Shepherd and Ploughman, Roscommon, 5 feet 3½, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, dark ruddy much freckled comp. from Mr. W. Cox, Mulgoa.

John Jones, No. 33-87, Mary (4), 32, Publican, Yorkshire. 5 feet 4½, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, ruddy comp. mark of a bile under right jaw, 5 blue dots back of right thumb, scar on knuckles of forefinger of right hand, from the Estate of the late Mr. Murdoch Campbell.
