TOOWOOMBA

Occupies one of the most healthy positions in the Colony of Queensland. It is situated upon the summit of the Main Range, about 1750 feet above the level of the sea, and is 102 miles distant from the city of Brisbane, 78 from Ipswich, 55 from Warwick. 53 from Dalby, 41 from Leyburn, 41 from Allora, 162 from Goondiwindi, and 4 from Drayton. The average temperature for the whole year runs from 62 to 64 degrees in the shade. Population at last census (1868) within the Municipality, 3001.
