Lemon Squash (1921)

Lemon Squash.

A lemon squash is made by dissolving a small dessertspoonful of sugar in the juice of a lemon in a big squash glass and adding soda water to fill the glass. A very refreshing lemon drink is made by adding a few shards of the yellow rind to the juice, sugar to sweeten to taste, and boiling water poured in until the drink is palatable. If left till cold, strained, and chilled with ice, this is, perhaps, the most refreshing drink that can be made.
