Cherry Cake (1923)


CHERRY CAKE

4oz. butter
4oz. sugar
6oz. flour
2 eggs, little salt
1/2 cup milk
teaspoon powder
oz. candied cherries. 

Mode— Beat butter and sugar well, add well-beaten eggs and milk, sift in flour, salt and powder. Bake 1 hour. 

Icing— Juice of lemon and enough icing sugar to thicken, put a few cherries on top of cake.
