Care of Shoes (1890)

CARE OF SHOES.

The following recipe is good for boots:—One pound of drop-black, half pint coachmakers' dye, small bit of Prussian blue, one pint of neatsfoot oil. Hang a wax candle before the fire to drop in or a piece of beeswax. Mix well the dye and black first. Warm it when putting it on.
